Weight Management
Registered Nutritional Therapist
My approach is not ‘one size fits all’ or ‘diet’ orientated. It is highly individualised and holistic. I will meet you where you are at in your journey and together we will negotiate dietary and lifestyle changes, which you will implement in steps that are both manageable and sustainable. We will establish what your needs are and will together work to nourish you with the ingredients your body and mind needs to thrive and flourish.
I will provide you with tools and strategies for improving your relationship with food and eating for life-long change.
I will be your mentor, guiding you through the journey, and you will be your own change agent.
I will ask you to share your core values with me and I will assist you to make value-based decisions that will enable you to move forward.
I will teach food wisdom and debunk myths around food, diets, dieting and weight loss.
We will challenge any self-limiting beliefs and thinking styles that are impacting unhelpful behaviours and work on re-framing them.
Using food diaries to learn about patterns, we will work on behavioural interventions to assist you with eating management including shopping, cooking and understanding food labels.
We will identify and address any unhelpful ‘scripts’ you may have around food and eating that may be obstacles.
I will teach mindful eating, help you to develop an awareness of different types of hunger and how to respond to them, and guide you to understand what portion size and satiety are for you specifically.
We will look at managing your environment by investigating triggers, stimulus control, unhelpful behaviour chains, and relationships with others.
Where needed, we will work on building self-esteem, emotional management skills, assertion training, and any other areas that are within my professional scope that may be helpful to you.
Is the time right for you to start this journey? Let’s have a chat to find out.
